Why Intellect Africa?

Intellect Africa seeks to serve the purpose of a bridge–bringing students and opportunities together, erupting an intellectual explosion. Our target are high schoolers in Nigeria and thinkers across Africa. We’re setting them up for the vastness of opportunities they can benefit from after graduation and a successful college transition. Gap year students can benefit considerably while they prepare for college.
Our research showed that a considerable percentage of students in sub-Sahara Africa are still ignorant about the opportunities they can benefit towards their education. We are on a mission to build leaders, dreamers, and achievers by bridging the gap of ignorance. Intellect Africa targets solving 1 and 4 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (No Poverty and Quality Education) by providing information and guidance students can take advantage of to study in Global Communities and become better professionals. This in the long run tackles “No Poverty” in the near future.
Since 2006, the US consulate in Nigeria has been accepting students in the country into the Opportunity Funds Program to assist low-income and high-achieving students fulfill their dream of studying in the United States. However, many low-income students with brilliant abilities are ignorant of this opportunity. We remain committed to helping students in this category understand such programs exist and many others. It’s not enough to know it exists, but preparing ahead to be selected out of a large applicant pool is imperative. The information we’ve curated on our website aims at fulfilling this purpose. Stand out!
